Robin Berhoft, MD
Everett, WA

Robin graduated from Harvard College with a degree in British History and started law school at Berkeley. He was drafted, and served 22 months at Fort Ord, California, in the Military Police. He then went to medical school, graduating from Washington University, St Louis. He did a residency in General Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and a fellowship in liver and pancreatic surgery at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London, England.
In 1984, Robin joined a surgical practice, from which he was disabled by skin allergies in 1991. The week after he left his surgical practice, he was asked to lead medical opposition to the initiative which would have legalized euthanasia in Washington state. His campaign was successful.
The following year, he helped craft another come-from-behind victory over a euthanasia initiative in California. Robin first met Peg in 1993 when she came to Washington to help him fight Outcomes Based Education. In 1994, his speeches and video helped repeal Washington's "Hillary Clinton style" health reform law. For these efforts, he was honored by the NEA and People for the American Way with mention on their "enemies lists".
He has written a book and various articles on life issues, a mystery novel, and is currently researching a historical novel set in 16th century Ireland (when time permits).
In 1998, he managed Peg Luksik's campaign for governor of Pennsylvania. "Welcome Home" is the first radio show Robin has hosted since a weekly program in high school.
